Demonstrations

Nothing gives Les greater pleasure than to demonstrate his art to an appreciative audience. He makes regular visits to  local groups and societies, where he provides a brief practical demonstration of wood turning, followed by a talk on such topics as the peculiarities of local timber, how it is harvested and how it is turned into unique pieces of art. Les brings a small lathe to each presentation, along with samples of local timbers and of his work.

Professional demonstrations are also provided, further afield, for woodturning clubs and societies. The image above shows Les demonstrating tool techniques at a meeting of Mid Wales Woodturners. Typically, such demonstrations last from just a couple of hours, up to a full day session.
