Guest Editor at Woodturning Magazine
Several months ago, the good people at GMC Publications contacted me and asked me if I would like to be their guest editor for one of the issues of Woodturning magazine. Needless to say, I said “Yes please”. Their long standing and immensely editor, Mark Baker, had passed away last year after a long battle against cancer and along with myself, many of my colleagues who write regularly for the magazine, we were delighted to be asked to help out.
I have been writing for the magazine for four or five years, producing an article every month, based on technical knowledge of woodturning, or about designing and making a specific item item, photographing it step by step along the way so that novice and intermediate turners can replicate the designs and the techniques.
Here’s a sample of the sort of articles that have been submitted so far…
Twice in the past few years, I’ve had the honour of having my work displayed on the magazine cover, and that gave me quite a buzz, but this month topped all of that.
I should mention, that the photograph was taken by Heledd Roberts, who called at the little workshop behind our old shop one evening to teach me how to take my own good photos of my work, so a huge “thank you” to Heledd.
