Description
(SOLD) Heavily spalted and distressed, beech bowl, scorched throughout. Exterior beaded and verdigris waxed.
Before its wood was seasoned, it suffered fungal attack which softened some areas of the grain, and these have been more deeply eroded than others during the scorching process, which has resulted in a wealth of different textures on the outer wall of the bowl. Added to this, the application of verdigris wax has given the whole piece the appearance of an ancient relic or archaeological find.
